It’s Monday, but I won’t tell you how bad my house looks and how many of my children are vomiting and/or feverish, and my suspicion that I am sick too (but my secret hope that I might be pregnant instead, though I can’t find out yet because I used every single one of my stockpiled pregnancy tests over the last two weeks).
Instead of whining about all that, I’ll just tell you what happened to me last week.
I was sitting at the table, happily typing away on the laptop when I felt The Boy playing with my toes. I giggled and pretended to kick and struggle, squealing, “My toes! Help, he’s getting my toes!”
He chuckled maliciously and tickled me even more. The game continued until one of the girls looked under the table and cleared her throat nervously.
“Umm…Mom? He has a marker.”
I looked down and here’s what I saw:

And there you were encouraging it! It is so cute though, and I’m sure he had a wonderful time. So sorry you are all sick.

I hope you’re not sick! I don’t know what cold remedies you can take if you’re pregnant or suspecting, but I hope you feel better soon!

I’m sorry about the illness in your home. Thanks for sharing the story and the picture, though….it made me giggle.

My daughter went through a terrible time when every time I turned around she had a marker in her hand drawing on something. It lasted a few months and I still have some of the evidence. Thankfully at 2 1/2 she’s begun to actually use paper instead of chairs & shoes.

oh no, on the new floor too!
I am so sorry you all are sick AGAIN!
Let me know if there is anything we can do for you! We are only a call and a short drive away!

Ooooh, I hope you are pregnant! I had a little boy just a few months after your little boy was born, (he was also our 8th child) and we are expecting in April. It would be nice for you to join us. Kim B. from Large Family Logistics really beat us both to the punch with her 9th coming so quickly after #8. Praying that you all feel better, unless you are expecting! ;o)
Blessings,
Kimberly

Praying you all recover quickly!
Too cute about your little one and the marker… hope it wasn’t a sharpie!
God bless,
Sallie

I hope your family is all over the sickness soon. I love the story and the picture is priceless.

1. I hope your sickness is due to something completely different from your kiddos!
2. I hope that wasn’t a permanent marker.
Here’s hoping…

I hope everyone feels better soon. Funny story about the marker. I hope you could get all the marker off your foot, the baby and the floor.

I’m sorry y’all are so sick. That’s so hard in a big family!
Be thankful it was only a marker : ) I had a little one once playing with my hair. That is, until someone yelled, “Mom, he’s got scissors!” Yep, some of my hair was laying on the floor!

I’ve only been reading your blog for a couple months now but I have to let you know I enjoy it immensely. I admire you and your husband for having such a wonderful family. This picture of your son using the marker is just too cute. My 3 boys are 4, 3, and 9 months and are always up to something like this but I rarely have the camera ready. And my 11 yo daughter is often the target. lol
oh, and good luck on the pregnancy test.

Oh Kim! That is too funny. I caught William this morning coloring the tile in my bathroom with my eyeliner. I gave him a wet cloth and he “cleaned” up his mess. At the time I was thankful it wasn’t waterproof! Now I’m thankful it wasn’t magic marker!
I’m sorry y’all are sick. We visited the Chancey’s this past week and two of my children vomited while there. One child the day we arrived and the other the day we left. Aren’t we thoughtful guests? Want us to come visit?
